About Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Housing for All (Urban)
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Housing for All (Urban) is a flagship initiative on affordable housing by Government of India and the dream of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India to provide pucca dwelling units to all eligible EWS. Though PMAY-HFA-(U) was launched in the year 2015 however in Assam, it was launched in the year 2017 due to Aadhar issue. The Mission strategizes to achieve the motto “Housing for All” through four components, i.e. subsidy for Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC), Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (which has been discontinued by MoHUA since 31st March 2022), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) and “In-Situ” Slum Redevelopment for existing slum dwellers.
